Multiple sclerosis (MS)

About Multiple sclerosis (MS)

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neuroimmunologic (both the nervous system and the immunological system are involved) disorder of the central nervous system involving the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. MS is a chronic inflammatory, autoimmune disease of the central nervous system that disrupts communication between the brain and other parts of the body. For most patients with MS, functional deterioration and new symptoms (so-called relapses or emergencies) are initially accompanied by a recovery period (remission period).
